I was eleven years old when I outgrew my mom’s old hand-me-down work laptop I was using for gaming with my friends. It was painfully slow, with terrible graphics, and would lag at the worst times.
Shortly before my 12th birthday, the only gift I wanted was a gaming PC, but without even asking, I knew that my mom wasn’t going to spend the $1500 on the Alienware model I had selected online. It was around that time during a conversation with my grandfather ‘Baba’, the idea of building the PC arose. He is believer in all things educational and was happy to fund the gaming PC with the condition that I build it myself. I was eleven years old and thought the adults were joking- the idea of building such complicated tech was beyond my comprehension.
But my Baba was serious, and he offered to fund all the hardware and software and to connect me with the technologists at his IT consulting firm, to verify my design and equipment choices. I was apprehensive, but the opportunity to have a dream gaming PC was beyond exciting. I put together my first PC and had a lot of fun doing it.
3 years later, I’ve built 4 PCs and counting... I enjoy researching the latest technology and designing builds to meet the demanding standards of modern games. I now want to help others enjoy the same experience through Akram’s Tech, so people can not only have a powerful computer, but learn how to build one.
